Seat Measurements

The original seats were made with leather +/- 1/16″  (.062″) thick.  (At least the ones I have seen) The four new seats I have had made use leather that is close to 3/32″ (.093″) thick which, hopefully, will last longer.  I have been using Lexol on the new seats and I think application every couple months is a good idea.  Unlike neatsfoot oil, it does not leave any stain on clothing and the next day there is no oily feel.

Underside (Note the added leather reinforcement under the ‘butt’ area) **Also – Note the long, narrow pommel strap is made with two layers of leather and should be 5/32″ – but NO THICKER – (The small metal adjuster around the pommel has two slots that are .200″ wide but the second slot next to the pommel rod narrows the effective slot to near 5/32″- +/- .154)
