The Covid 4300

At no time during the year 2020 did my Avatar venture farther than 8/10 mile from home.  However, I can accurately say that we traveled together a total of 4313 miles.

I am very fortunate that the home we moved to back in 2016 is in a sizable older development with an approximate 1.4-mile loop within its boundary.  The streets are wide and smooth.  No significant hills and no thru traffic to deal with.  Only the local residents, occasional contractor vehicles, mail/delivery trucks, and dog walkers and runners require watching.

I do the exact same 12.4 mile ride every day.   If it is raining or snowing, I do not ride.  In 2020, the weather really cooperated, and I only missed 23 days.  There was a stretch between April 26 and October 10 of 168 straight days of riding.

I’d like to blame it on Covid, but truth be told I rode 4100+ miles in 2019, only 216 miles of it on my Billings to West Yellowstone, MT trip that year.  So yes, the neighbors think I’m nuts. But I’m harmless; and I get my hour’s exercise most every day!
